Let us begin by redefining the term 'DIET'.ist1_6500880-fun-chef-running Let's move away from the negative associations of dieting that imply restrictive or sacrificial behaviors. Diet is a noun. It's the sum of what we choose to use as nourishment. If the total of what we choose to eat and drink is, by our account, our DIET then the word DIET can have a truly positive association if we choose to eat well, or a negative one if we choose to tolerate destructive eating behavior. Our DIET should support our physical fitness. Is it sensible to push our bodies through physical exertion and expect positive lasting results if we continue to fuel our bodies with chemically-laden, over-processed, metabolically destrcutive foods? Better, healthy, cleaner nutrition is paramount to achieving optimal fitness. Choose foods and water that nourish the body and mind and support the metabolic process. Choose appropriate nourishment to replenish energy expenditures that can be excessive during physical activity, and often afterward that fortify your physical well being. General digestive wellness also relies on how we eat and drink and when we eat and drink. You need to be well-fed to be physically fit.

The Fitness Palate does not endorse any, low carb, no carb, no fat, high fat, high protein, all protein diets. Nor do we believe that any single food regimens will make you healthy or that severely restricting your calorie intake is a healthy approach to wellness. We do support a diet that balances the body's pH creating an internal environment which is not vulnerable to the dis-ease that runs amuck in an acidic body. A diet consisting of mainly whole foods, raw foods, vegetables and lean proteins, sufficient hydration, probiotics, and few nutritional supplements is the protocol we do endorse, and one that is manageable. This is a lifestyle adaptation and the protocol is simple. So are the recipes in our Recipe Pantry. Enjoy an assortment of incredibly delicious and nourishing meals sure to satiate any palate!
